This has evolved into an essential device in the kitchen for the simplest whipping or mixing tasks. In fact, the need for a mixer stretches back to the time of a simple mortar and pestle. Any time you're trying to mix ingredients to create a recipe, a mixer will come in useful. Handheld mixers and stand-alone mixers both automate the chore a bit by replacing elbow grease with electricity however stand mixers take automated process to a new level.

If you are planning to spend your hard earned money on an item that costs a lot in the kitchen like a stand mixer you ought to conduct a bit of research. You'll want the best mixer that fits your needs but one that is able to be bought for a fair price. When you spend time to look around, you can be sure that you are getting the top stand mixer at the best price.

The first thing is important to take into consideration is the frequency at which you plan on using your mixer. If you are planning to use your mixer for more than once every week, you should consider buying a mixer with a motor that is made of metal gears. A lot of mixers available currently have gears made of plastic that won't last under excessive usage. It is more expensive to purchase a stand mixer with metal gears, but you'll end up receiving a product that will last for a long time.

Another thing to take into consideration is mixing power of the stand mixer. Most people make the mistake of equating wattage with power. More wattage does not necessarily indicate the mixer is a more powerful one with fewer watts. The best way to judge a mixers power is to determine the number of cups of flour that it can accommodate or the volume of dough it has the capacity to mix. If you're planning on using your mixer for mixing heavy dough, then you must find a mixer that has sufficient ability to perform those tasks.
